At Chestnut House, we believe that busy hands and active minds are a good combination for adding quality to a life. We have daily activities and we are always updating them to ensure that we cater for everyone as much as possible.
We look at stimulating the following senses within our activity programme;
Sight, sound, smell, touch, taste and motor senses.
Our activities also encourage communication which is important. For people who prefer to engage in less active activities or prefer to be alone, we can still offer stimulation through our sensory lounge area which is coming soon.
Our conservatory and garden area offers the choice of going out-
For people who enjoy Church, our local vicar attends Chestnut House on a Sunday morning every six weeks to carry out a service. Hymns are sang and our lounge organ is played and prayers are said. After prayers, the vicar spends time with anyone who wants to chat to him.
Outside entertainment is also arranged and this takes place in our large lounge area. At Christmas we have a Christmas Party and in the summer we have summer barbeques.
Care staff take individuals out to the local shop or post office.
