Mrs Moira Jones – Area Manager
Moira has Level 5 in Health & Social Care, Level 5 in Management and holds a Diploma in Care Management. Moira is a qualified counsellor and originally qualified as a Social Worker. She has many years’ experiences in care and was previously employed in an Area Manager role for corporate companies. Moira has also been employed as a Regulatory Inspector for NCSC, CSCI and CQC.
Lynn Ray – Registered Manager
Over 31 years’ experience as a qualified Nurse. After qualifying at Sunderland School of Nursing Lynn worked for two years on an acute cardiac ward before travelling to work in both Germany and Saudi Arabia gaining experience in all areas of health care including high dependency ventilated patients and care of the elderly. Since moving to the area in 1998 Lynn has worked in Care homes, firstly as a staff Nurse before joining Bistre as Deputy Manager in 2009 and then being promoted to Manager, Lynn has achieved NVQ level 4 in Health & Social Care and NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management. She has a good relationship with social services and other health care professionals.
Mrs Jaqueline Wilson – Deputy Manager
Jacky has been employed at Bistre since 1995. She worked many years as a care assistant in the general home before progressing to senior in the Dementia Unit and then being promoted to Deputy in 2018. Jacky holds NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care.
All staff employed at the Bistre are checked with an enhanced disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service on an on-going basis.
Bistre Care Home employs care staff with relevant training. A high majority of care staff have achieved NVQ Level 2 & 3 in care. Records of all staff qualifications, credentials, references and experience gained are retained in the staff files in the organisation’s office. These records are of limited access due to confidentiality and security.
All staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. They are carefully screened, and references are always checked thoroughly. During induction all staff are provided with in-house training and this training is continually updated.
The home also employs ancillary staff including an administrator, two cooks, kitchen assistants, domestic staff, activity coordinator and a maintenance person.
