We at Sherdley Manor have a large, homely lounge area which is bright, airy and lends itself to giving a lot of space for people to mobilise freely.
All residents’ taste in music are catered for via our vast music collection.
Our themed corridors are user friendly with handrails at each point to encourage independence at all times. Over the past couple of years Sherdley Manor has undergone some refurbishment to its communal areas. This is to encourage conversation and visual stimulation. These themed areas consist of:
We have staff on duty twenty-four hours a day all year round who are trained and experienced.
All staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. They are carefully screened, and references are always checked thoroughly. During induction all staff are provided with in-house and external training on the following elements.
We also operate an out of hours emergency on call system between that is shared between the manager and deputy manager.
We have a robust medication service to ensure that all individuals’ medicinal needs are catered for, along with a regular GP visits every 2 weeks for a routine ward round. Here at Sherdley Manor we work closely with relatives and health professional to ensure that mental and physical well-being is optimised.
There is an on-site laundry service at Sherdley Manor where all personal clothing is washed, dried and pressed by our laundry assistants and placed back in each person’s bedroom. All clothing and personal items are inventoried on a regular basis.
